The Northeast Wind Council of the Sovereign Abenaki Nations was set up many years ago for the Clan of the hawk and any other Native group that wanted to join together for the benefit of all.
This was under the leadership of the Great Abenaki Grand Chief Walter Watso from the Odanak Reserve in Canada; by Darrell LaRoque, the Security Chief and Grand Ambassador of the Abenaki Nation; and by Chief Howard Knight of the Cowasuck Abenaki Nation. It was established in a proper and legal way.
You too can take advantage of the strength of unity, by becoming a member of the NWC. Form your own group, no matter what size, and join in. Hold your own gathering. Elect your own representative to the Council. You will still be “on your own”, but you will be part of a bigger group and have access to all the other members’ help and support.
Recently, two new groups joined the Council and have pledged to work together with the Clan of the for the benefit of all Natives. We welcome any group that may want to join us. Each group will have a representative on the Council, which will meet whenever the need arises.
The Clan of the Hawk has always tried to foster the feeling of a family band and to help the Native People to come together. This is in NO WAY a takeover of any group; it is a way for all of us to come together, to learn and try to help each other. Think about this. Talk it over in your group. This is open to any group, anywhere. No one is trying to control any individual, band or group.
This is an opportunity to get together and work together- to give us the power that comes with unity. Come forward; you will be most welcome. Let’s sit down together and work together. Just call, e-mail or stop by.
UNITY BRINGS STRENGTH!
Thank you,
Chief Lone Cloud
